effing cardio final.
i've logged about 20 hours of studying since friday evening. it's only sunday morning. looks like i'm going to match the average joe's normal 40-hour work week in a weekend for this puppy. awesome.
i think at this point i'd rather have ventricular tachycardia or an abdominal aortic aneurysm rather than help treat them one day.

good luck on your final! sending loving thoughts of caffeine your way.
to reply to your comment: as for gosford park, i really enjoyed it, but it does take some easing into. it's typical altman fare in terms of muddled overlapping audio that's great for immersing into environs and creating atmosphere, but does require a good deal of concentration on the viewer's part. it's a good ensemble cast and full of richly layered gossip, intrigue, and a fun all-access pass to every social tier in the house--Hollywood actors, English aristocrats, personal valets, cooking staff. watching it makes me want to diagram the house what with the servants' secret staircases and whatnot. it's not a particularly mind-blowing film, but it's solid and worth a watch.
i feel like a lot of people are of the mccandless-was-an-idiot camp, but it's interesting to compare him to the countless other young male foolhardy idealists who are also drawn to the wild. it bothered me that the movie relied so heavily on trying to explain his decision with this heavy-handed dramatization of his family drama instead of it being some sort of intensely seductive primordial force. are you convinced he was an ass because his selfishness caused immeasurable pain for his loved ones or because he was reckless? did living in alaska shape your opinion?
anyway. i think you'll like the diving bell and the butterfly. again, liberties taken to dramatize his life, but it's a beautiful story.
i also saw the fall recently and enjoyed it beyond its visually stunning imagery.
not that you have time to watch these, being a busy busy med student, but... something to keep in mind :)
later fool
Good luck Foolio...keep up the hard work!
