.the lemonade diet.
.not for the faint of heart.
.aka don't read if you're going to bring down my positive energy. :)

ok. don't say i didn't warn you. i'm hesitant to post too many details of my newest adventure. so, first: the pros.
how would you like...
.to rid your body of toxins
.to spiritually enlighten yourself
.to achieve a whole-body tabula rasa of sorts
.to challenge your mind, body, and spirit to something new
.to be intentional about the shit you put in your mouth (and the shit that comes out the other end)
sounds pretty fabulous, eh? all i'm going to say is that the name of this regimen is misleading; it's not a diet. in fact, it's a cleanse. a healthy "master" cleanse.
last year, a friend of mine told me about this cleanse he was doing to rid his body of all the bad things we put in our body. he swore by it. as of late, my friend brian suggested we do it. together. a support system. today was the beginning of my new life. ok. that might be a little melodramatic.
the breakdown:
.senna tea and saline washes in the morning and evening. it gets the bowels moving. :)
.6-8 glasses of lemonade throughout the day (when hunger strikes) consisting of water, lemons, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper
.as much water as you want.
that's it.
see the lemonade has all of the vitamins and minerals you need to sustain all the things you do daily like work, work out, function. yada yada. it's tasty. spicy, yes. i'm decreasing the cayenne on the next batch.
the saline needs to be reduced for tomorrow as well. it's 2 quarts of lukewarm water with 2 tsp. of sea salt. i'm doing 1 quart from here on out. got the bowels moving a bit too much.
the benefits are amazing: i can't really type out everything, but think about the toxins in our bodies from the food and lifestyle choices we make. while there is a lot to be said of enjoying life and eating the things we want, it still has negative impacts on our attitude, our mental health, our spirits. i have lots of literature and have read up; this isn't impulsive (entirely).
the few people that know and that are around me are worried about complaints and hunger pains. well, the thing is you're detoxing...i'm flushing myself of fatty acids, toxins, poisons. this is glorious. it's all about positive energy punctuated with flushings of negativisms.
i don't know if i'm going to necessarily update everyone on my progress daily, but i figured i'd share the latest. this lasts for ten days by the way; next thursday i'll be done wherein i'll wean myself back onto solids. i'm not fearful that i won't make it; if you set your mind to something, you can do anything you want.
and for all those skeptics that are like, "wah? why would you do that to your body?" i say: we've gotten accustomed to eating partially hydrogenated soybean oil, trans fat, sat. fat etc. how can you do that to your body, i ask? this by no means is a judgment, just a personal choice--an experience, if you will. i'm surely going to continue to eat certain things like dairy and probably meat (although...i may experiment with vegetarianism), but sometimes it takes a lifestyle change to achieve certain things. continual states of being lackidaisical never created positive change.
oh. and while it can be a weight loss regimen, you're not losing any muscle mass, but simply flushing shit that's not supposed to be there. the maple syrup keeps you energetic and your calories up.
it's almost the end of the day. i worked. i only had two glasses of lemonade and i feel great.

I think you're on crack. Cutting down your calories that much is not a good idea for you, since you have no body fat to begin with! In addition, I have heard of people who have done this, and it gets a lot harder. I hope you stay feeling this good, though!
